The Business Challenge
The company handles Customer calls using a Siebel based Call Center System. A lot of functionality has been built into the system over these past 5 years, and it still continues to grow. As the functionality grows, there is a constant need to comprehensively test the system with all its interfaces with other systems. Also with every release, the Regression Set also keeps on building up by volumes. A lot of time was getting spent in executing the Regression test set. This would eat up actual Integration and System Testing time slot.

The Solution
We at Invenger felt that there is a strong need to reduce the effort in Regression testing. We suggested the need to automate the Regression test set to clients. After getting the go ahead from clients, we started automating Regression test cases using WinRunner and Certify. We have automated majority of the Regression test, which constantly gets updated with every release.

The Benefits
Automation has tremendously reduced the Regression test cycle time. The Test resources are now able to focus more on the current functionality and also able to spend some time on planning future releases.
With the excellent feedback that we have received from clients, we have now started automating System Test set also. This will also reduce the System testing cycle time considerably.
