The Client
A leading US based property and casualty insurance company.

The Challenge
The company has implemented a claims processing system. This involved technologies like SIEBEL, Filenet and Genesis. To monitor the effectiveness of this system the company has built decision support system to analyze claims processing and Customer Survey performance using Cognos suite.

Some of the project objectives were:

  • Convert Impromptu Web Reports to ReportNet reports.
  • Reduce run time of Daily Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) process which was taking 30+ hours. SLA for ETL is 6 hours.
  • Develop new reports.
  • Provide the Frame work where user can generate ad hoc reports.
  • Upgrade Decision Stream 6.5 to 7.1.
  • Continue in support and maintaining application using offshore/onsite model.

The Solution
The Invenger team started studying and understanding the existing source systems (Siebel CRM, FileNet and Customer Survey). We had modified the data processing logic, database parameters, PL/SQL procedures, and used features of Oracle 9i. ETL run time brought down to 6 hours from 32 hours.
We designed and implemented the BI reports using the Cognos ReportNet, Cognos PowerPlay and Cognos Decision Stream tools.
